As a player, I will:
Play for the fun of it—not just to please my parents or coach.
Always play by the rules.
Respect my coaches, officials, myself, my teammates, and my opponents.
Acknowledge that the coaching staff and officials are there to help me, and I will accept, respect, and never argue with their decisions.
Let my captain or coach ask any necessary questions on my behalf.
Control my temper and maintain self-control at all times.
Not publicly remove my SASA jersey in anger or frustration.
Work equally hard for myself and my team, understanding that both will benefit from my effort.
Be a good sport—cheering for all good plays, whether made by my team or my opponent.
Treat all players as I would like to be treated; I will not interfere with, bully, or take unfair advantage of any player.
Remember that winning isn’t everything—having fun, improving, and giving a complete effort are equally important.
Take responsibility for my conduct on and off the field, in my community, and online—demonstrating the highest levels of sportsmanship, integrity, and respect.
Cooperate with my coach, teammates, and opponents, recognizing that without them, there would be no game.
As a parent or spectator, I will:
Not force an unwilling child to participate in sports.
Remember that children are involved in organized sports for their enjoyment, not mine.
Do my best to help my child fulfill their team commitments.
Encourage my child to play by the rules.
Teach my child that honest effort is just as important as winning, so they can accept the result of each game without undue disappointment.
Turn moments of defeat into learning experiences by helping my child work toward skill improvement and personal growth.
